Introduction to Falconry Experience

3 Hour Duration  •   Adult (18+)  $105.00,        Youth (8 - 17) and Seniors (65+) $100.00,     + taxes

If you are interested in the art of Falconry and want to learn more, or see if it is a lifestyle you are interested in pursuing, or even if you are just looking for a great outdoor session for the family, the Introduction to Falconry experience is for you! 


What to Expect
We invite you to experience some of the many jobs of a falconer as you join us for half day experience. You will learn about creating and managing equipment for a raptor, prepare food, track down a lost bird by telemetry and more!

There is a 10 to 15 minute break in the middle of the session for restroom and refreshment break. Please bring along a snack or something to drink if you wish!

At end of our three hour session, you join us with a free flying hawk which is called to the fist in our flight yard!

This is a great starting point for anyone interested in learning more about the process of becoming a falconer in Ontario! While this session is not designed to make you a falconer, it is designed to help give you a better understanding of the lifestyle, licensing process and commitment before you dive into an apprenticeship.

Good things to know about our One Hour Falconry Experience

• Introduction to Falconry experiences run on specific days with a set number of 4 available spots

  • Seasonal availability from mid-April to the end of October/early November as weather permits.

• You may be cleaning a dead animal to prepare raptor food in this experience. Please notify our falconer in advance if you are uncomfortable with this.

• Payment is due in advance for the Introduction to Falconry Experience to reserve your date.

• Maximum group size of 4 individuals. 

• Kids must be ages 8+ to handle and fly a bird of prey.

• Photos and questions are welcome through the entire session.

• Spectators and children under 8 are welcome at an additional fee of $25 per person.

• Due to their outdoor nature, our experiences are weather dependent. We will contact you in the evening prior to your experience day to notify you of the possibility of rescheduling to your back-up date. 

• Wear clothing suitable to the weather on the day of your experience as we are outdoors.

• Bug spray and sunscreen are highly recommended through the summer months.
